PlantCV Geospatial workshop travel award application
Description
Join us for an all-day PlantCV workshop on Thursday, September 17 at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center in St. Louis, Missouri to learn the basics and how to use the newly released PlantCV Geospatial software package. This training event will be split into two sessions: a morning guided session using PlantCV in a basic image analysis workflow, followed by an afternoon session exploring two workflows using tools found in PlantCV Geospatial, a PlantCV add-on package that empowers you to analyze UAV/drone/satellite data. An application is required for this in-person workshop (no virtual options) due to limited seats and funding. If accepted, travel expenses (airfare, ground transportation, hotel) will be reimbursed up to $2,000. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the workshop is full.
Participants will learn to
Develop image analysis workflows using Jupyter notebooks.
Use fundamental PlantCV features for RGB image analysis
Prepare a training dataset for supervised machine learning tasks
Extract traits from UAV/drone images in PlantCV
